How to Use These Sheets for
Maximum Performance
Step 1: Fill Out the Jump Plan (Ideally the Day Before)
I have my athletes complete this during our pre-meet workout the day before. That way, they can ask questions, clarify anything, and mentally rehearse their plan. On meet day, I'm often coaching at multiple events β so sometimes athletes are at their event area on their own. This sheet keeps them prepared and focused, even when Iβm not right there.
Step 2: Print Before Every Meet
Have your sheets printed and ready. Theyβre designed to help you focus your energy on jumping β not trying to remember what to do.
Step 3: Use the Technique Checklist
Do a quick technical review during warm-up. This locks in your approach rhythm, posture, and takeoff cues without overthinking.
Step 4: Track Every Jump
Use the Meet Day Sheet to record your attempts, spot patterns, and write quick notes. Bring this back to your next practice to make quick, simple improvements.
